1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chunks
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter and mix with granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla.
Add in eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish.
For the cookie layer, in another bowl, cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing thoroughly.
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then mix into the wet ingredients.
Fold in chocolate chunks.
Spread the cookie dough over the brownie batter in the dish.
Top with remaining brownie batter, swirling lightly for a marbled effect.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow to cool, then cut into squares.
Notes
For an extra indulgent treat, serve with vanilla ice cream.
Substitute dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor.
