A delightful meatloaf topped with creamy cheesy mashed potatoes, perfect for family meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix well and shape into a loaf.
  4. Place the meatloaf in a baking dish and bake for 45 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the mashed potatoes, adding half of the cheese.
  6. After 45 minutes, remove meatloaf from the oven, top with mashed potatoes and remaining cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables.
