A rich and creamy dish featuring orzo pasta, broccoli, and cheddar cheese, enhanced with turkey bacon for a delightful taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add the orzo and toast for a couple of minutes.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add the broccoli and reduce heat to simmer.
  5. Cook until the orzo is tender, about 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Chop the turkey bacon and mix it back into the pasta. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

  • This dish can be easily made vegetarian by omitting the turkey bacon.
  • For added flavor, consider using garlic powder or onion powder.
