A creamy and flavorful butter chicken made in under 30 minutes.

  • 1 pound boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger, and sauté until the onion is soft.
  2. Add the chicken and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in garam masala and chili powder, and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the tomato puree and bring to a simmer.
  5. Lower the heat, stir in the heavy cream, and cook until thickened.
  6. Garnish with cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • This dish pairs well with rice or naan.
  • For a spicier kick, adjust the amount of chili powder.
