A tasty twist on the classic Bolognese sauce, featuring turkey bacon for added flavor.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces turkey bacon
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 carrot diced
  • 1 celery stalk diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 3 cups cooked pasta of choice

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté onions, garlic, carrot, and celery until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Serve sauce over cooked pasta and top with crumbled turkey bacon.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
  • Leftover sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
