The ultimate green bean casserole recipe featuring turkey bacon and chicken ham for a hearty twist on a classic dish.

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and blanch the green beans for about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then chop into small pieces.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken ham, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, bacon, and half of the crispy fried onions.
  5. Add the blanched green beans to the mixture and stir until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish and top with the remaining crispy fried onions.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top.

Notes

  • Add more crispy fried onions on top for extra crunch.
  • For a lighter version, substitute the cream of mushroom soup with a homemade version using broth and milk.
